![]() | Another name for siemens is mho. As the reciprocal of an ohm, it is the word ohm written backwards, at the suggestion of Sir William Thomson (Lord Kelvin) in 1883. This designation is not used and accepted by the International System.
Electrical conductance is measured in the siemens unit (denoted by S). In some older works, the name mho (with the letters in the reverse order of ohm and pronounced mo) was used instead of this unit. |
